Case Study - Daning Coal Project Engineering, Social and Environmental Impact, and Geological Studies

Shanxi Province is located in North Central China – an area rich in untapped natural resources including but not limited to coal and other fossil fuels. The Daning Coal Project sits at the center of Shanxi Province where mining development began in 1999. As the venture progressed, the Chinese government realized that the best course of action was to marry modern mining systems with local mine management methods in use throughout China. To achieve this end, the government created Asian American Coal Inc. (AACI).

Reserve Analysis Based on National and International Reporting Standards.

When assessing economically recoverable reserves, operating companies, mineral owners and investors are faced with a multitude of reporting standards.  Marshall Miller and Associates dedicates a team of mining engineers, geologists, hydrologists and experts from related disciplines to determine recoverable reserves using the full range of international standards that include JORC, NI 43-101, (CRIRSCO, AIM), and the U.S. SEC Industry Guide 7.  Measured, indicated and inferred resources and proven and probable reserves are assessed by MM&A’s team of mining experts.  MM&A also advises clients as to which particular reporting standards should be considered according to mineral deposit type, geographic location, and potential investors.
