<p>

When undertaking a new mining venture, stakeholders understand that planning and constructing a professionally managed mine is a very time consuming and costly process.  After all, “time is money, ” and financiers know it will likely take years to realize a return on their capital investment.  At Marshall Miller and Associates, we are sensitive to this genuine concern and work the problems we face accordingly.

<p>

To balance the need for return on investment and doing so without sacrificing safety, harming production, increasing costs, clients turn to Marshall Miller and Associates for the skills and expertise they need to get the job done.

At the Fitzroy Trough, Canning Basin mining site in Western Australia, mine owners selected MM&A to complete a comprehensive and accurate feasibility study – a task that we were able to accomplish in just three years from the first significant drilling campaign – a fantastic turnaround time for such a complex project.  The client asked us to assess the potential of a greenfield coal mining venture dubbed the Duchess Paradise Project – an operation to produce low-energy, high-volatile B bituminous coal for the Asian market, particularly India.

<p>

In response, MM&A prepared a definitive feasibility study (DFS) – complete with a risk assessment – using the skills and cutting-edge knowledge of Marshall Miller and Associates mine engineers, geologists, hydrologists and related industry experts. Our team gained an intimate understanding of the project and provided the comprehensive technical and business advice our client needed to inform its Board of Directors and green-light the project.
